GRAPH 1 : gives the market picture of sale of the small Oil / Chemical Tankers, type IMO II of the last month. Sample taken from a universe of more than 600 ship for sale, located in SE Asia, W Africa Europe and E America. In this Graph analyzes the behavior and trend of ships prices older than 10 years. It has been divided into 04 groups (according to the greatest demands), in a variety of capacities (from 52 to 92 thousand barrels). A high offer the vessels is observed in the 23-20 and 14-13 age bands. Many of them have SS / DD for this year or early next, which justifies its low prices in many cases. In this type of ship, the price depends a lot on the quality of its tanks and discharge pump system. With less impact in terms of age and less than the capacity of the ship.
GRAPH 2: this curve shows the trend of the average factor USD X DWT. In this case, we contemplate its variation according to the age of the ship, considering little impact of the cargo capacities. This polynomial curve is a tool that allows us to have a fair price for second-hand Oil / Chemical Tankers older than 10 years.
The quality of the cargo tanks and their pump systems, as well as the proximity of their SS / DD. will impact this factor up or down.
